Stress injuries have been one of the more perplexing things for me. How is it that some people are perpetually plagued by physical problems, while others never even have pain? After much observation and research, I have found that there are many factors which increase one’s likelihood of injury, some of which include the following:
· Body structure
· “Trying to make it”
“Trying to make it” falls into a number of categories in this list (particularly stress, mentality, misuse, and overuse), but I have included it as a standalone reason because this sentiment is really one of the reasons why so many musicians push themselves to extremes. By isolating this thought and addressing it, I believe a lot of physical problems can be alleviated.
