About Me
I'm a half-Japanese American with a love of all things language-related! After extensive adventuring throughout the world (and trying to master other languages along the way), I have recently relocated back to my hometown of Seattle, WA and expanded my language studio. I spent my childhood in the States and Japan, surrounded by Japanese language and culture. I pursued seven years of formal Japanese language training, which culminated in a Japanese language minor at the University of Washington. I continue to challenge my understanding and knowledge and regularly prepare for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).
Are Japanese lessons for me?
Growing up multilingual, I understand the difficulty of trying to juggle several languages! Whether you just want to train your brain, become more immersed in Japanese culture, prepare for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), or simply brush up on your skills prior to your travels, I am happy to be of help. Lessons include reading, writing, listening, translating literature, and speaking (polite, casual, and formal styles). I work out of Genki I, Genki II, Quartet, and Tobira, and use literature and news articles as a way to enhance the students’ knowledge. I welcome beginning and intermediate Japanese students!
